Government Sets Electricity Tariffs April-June 2026
The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has set the electricity tariff for the second quarter of 2026, which covers the period from April to June 2026. In this policy, there is no increase in electricity rates for that period, so the tariff remains the same as the previous month.
This policy was taken as part of efforts to maintain economic stability and people’s purchasing power. This tariff setting applies to all categories of customers, both subsidized and non-subsidized customers.

Factors that affect the amount of electricity bill

Electricity tariffs in Indonesia are distinguished by power class and type of use, such as household, business, industry and government. This group will determine the range of costs per kilowatt hour (kWh) that must be paid by customers. Although the rate per kWh is fixed, several factors can affect the difference in the amount of the bill with other customers. Here are some of them:
Power consumption used
The more power consumption used, the greater the monthly electricity costs. Equipment such as large refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners to water heaters can make your monthly electricity bill bigger than other customers.Usage habits
Usage time can also cause differences in electricity bills for each customer. For example, on vacation, you more often turn on the air conditioner, watch TV, and activate other electronic devices from morning to night. So, do not be surprised if the bill can swell.selected system
Prepaid and postpaid customers have different payment patterns. On the one hand, prepaid customers will pay for electricity according to the token purchased, while postpaid will be paid at the end of the month. Both may have the same basic rate. However, the prepaid system actually has the advantage of controlling its usage and transparency of the monthly tariff.Installed group
Differences in class or installed power also affect electricity bills. In short, customers with higher power can have higher electricity rates than the lower class.
