WhatsApp Prepares Quick Chat Summary Feature, Can Summarize 5 Conversations at Once
New WhatsApp Feature: Quick Chat Recaps to Make It Easier for Users
WhatsApp, a very popular instant messaging application, is developing a new feature called Quick Chat Recaps. This feature is designed to make it easier for users to read long messages without having to open each chat one by one.
Quick Chat Recaps was first noticed by the WABetaInfo site, which is often a source of information about new features under development. With this feature, users can summarize several chats at once, making it more efficient and saving time.
Previously, WhatsApp already had a Message Summaries feature which had a similar function. However, this feature can only be used on one chat and does not support multi-chat summaries. Therefore, the presence of Quick Chat Recaps is considered a significant improvement from WhatsApp.
Ability to Manage Up to Five Chats
According to a report from WABetaInfo, Quick Chat Recaps is able to summarize up to five chats at once. The use process is also quite easy. Users just need to go to the “Chats” tab, select up to five chats they want to summarize, then tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner. After that, select the “Quick Recap” option.
This feature will appear on the WA Android page with a clear display. The “Quick Recap” option is located inside the three-dot icon along with other features such as “Mark as read”, “Select all”, “Lock chats”, “Add to Favorites”, and “Add to list”. This shows that this feature will be easy for users to find and use.
Private Processing Technology from Meta
Quick Chat Recaps uses Private Processing technology, which is integrated with Meta AI. This technology is designed so that the message content or summary cannot be read by third parties, including Meta and WhatsApp itself.
According to WABetaInfo, before any processing occurs, selected data and message requests will be handled through Private Processing first. This means that even though user chats are summarized with the help of Meta AI artificial intelligence, the contents of the messages remain private. In this way, user security and privacy are maintained.
Optional and Non-Automatic Features
The Quick Chat Recaps feature is not activated automatically. Users must activate it themselves through the application settings. In addition, this feature is specifically designed for regular chats that do not have extra protection such as “Advanced Chat Privacy” protection.
Still Under Development
Quick Chat Recaps is found in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.21.112 for Android phones. Even though it has appeared in this version, this feature cannot be used yet because it is still in the internal development stage.
According to WABetaInfo, in future updates, this feature will most likely be tested first among Beta users. Only after the testing process is complete and declared stable, WhatsApp will launch it more widely to the public. Until now, there is no official information on when the testing and release process will begin. Let’s just wait.
