iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max Battery Specs Revealed via 3C Certification

New 3C Certification Filings Confirm Battery Capacities for Upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Models
Recent 3C certification filings have revealed key details about the battery capacities of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. These filings are typically considered a reliable source of information, as they involve official regulatory paperwork that must be completed before a product is released.
According to the certification listings, the iPhone 18 Pro comes with a battery capacity of 4056mAh for the China version and 4288mAh for the US version. This represents a slight increase compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, which had a capacity of 3988mAh in China and 4252mAh in the US. Earlier reports from tipster Digital Chat Station suggested a similar split for the standard Pro model, and this new filing appears to support those claims.
Significant Jump in Battery Capacity for the iPhone 18 Pro Max
The iPhone 18 Pro Max shows a more substantial improvement in battery life. The certification reveals a 5391mAh battery for the China version and 5567mAh for the US version. This is a significant jump from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which had 4823mAh and 5088mAh respectively. The increase of approximately 500mAh could help Apple close the gap with Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus, who often pack batteries with capacities exceeding 7000mAh into their flagship devices.
Apple has traditionally focused on chip efficiency rather than raw battery capacity to maintain performance. However, the rumored 2nm A20 Pro chip, which is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro series, could help Apple achieve better energy efficiency while also supporting larger battery sizes.
Additional Leaks About the iPhone 18 Pro Series
Beyond the battery, other components of the iPhone 18 Pro series have also been the subject of leaks. On the chip front, the phones are expected to use the A20 Pro, Apple’s first chip built on a 2nm process. This should bring improved performance and efficiency.
In terms of design, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to retain a similar look to the current models. However, the Dynamic Island cutout is likely to be smaller, as some Face ID components may be integrated under the display.

Camera and Display Updates
On the camera side, dummy units of the Pro Max suggest the possibility of a variable aperture in the main lens. This feature would allow the lens to physically adjust how much light reaches the sensor, potentially improving photo quality in different lighting conditions. The camera setup is rumored to include three 48MP sensors along with a periscope telephoto lens.
The screen sizes are expected to remain the same as last year: 6.3 inches for the Pro model and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.
Final Thoughts
While these details are based on leaks and certifications, none of them are officially confirmed. Some aspects may change before the official launch, which is expected to take place in September. More information is anticipated as the release date approaches.
