The introduction of the Vivo Y400 5G which offers high-end features in the midrange segment

In early August 2025, the Chinese smartphone company, Vivo, officially launched its newest phone, the Vivo Y400 5G. This phone is intended for the midrange market with features that are usually only found on high-end phones. Although it is currently being marketed on a limited basis in India, several certifications have been obtained by this device, thus strengthening the possibility of its presence in the Indonesian market.

Tough and waterproof design

One of the main features of the Vivo Y400 5G is the IP68 and IP69 certification which provides maximum protection against water and dust. With this certification, this device is able to survive in water to a depth of 2 meters for 30 minutes. In addition, this phone is also equipped with rainproof and water spray features, thus maintaining optimal audio and visual performance in various weather conditions.

The design of the Vivo Y400 5G is quite slim, with a thickness of between 7.90–7.99 mm and a weight of about 198 grams. Despite having a large battery, the weight remains light, making use more convenient.

Bright and responsive AMOLED screen

In terms of appearance, the Vivo Y400 5G carries a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The maximum brightness reaches 1,800 nits, so the visibility is very good even in direct sunlight. This screen is not only sharp, but also responsive, suitable for multitasking and watching videos.

Quality performance and camera

The Vivo Y400 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, which is combined with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage UFS 3.1. This ensures reliable performance for multitasking and fast storage.

In the photography sector, this phone is equipped with a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera, which is combined with a 2 MP bokeh camera. Meanwhile, the front camera uses a 32 MP sensor with a punch-hole design, providing clear and detailed photos.

One of the other excellent features of the Vivo Y400 5G is a large 6,000 mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging. With this capacity, users can charge very quickly, so there is no need to worry about running out of power during daily use.

In addition, this phone also supports complete connectivity such as 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, OTG, and USB Type-C. This ensures users stay connected and can access various digital services without interruption.

Prices and Variants

For the 8GB/128GB variant, the Vivo Y400 5G is priced at 21,999 rupees (approximately Rp. 4.1 million), while the highest variant of 8GB/256GB is sold at a price of 23,999 rupees or around Rp. 4.5 million. This price shows that this phone offers competitive value in the midrange segment.
