10 Samsung Devices That Work With Your iPhone

Benefits of Using Samsung Wearables with an iPhone

Owning devices that belong to the same ecosystem from a specific brand can offer several advantages. For example, having an Apple Watch allows users to receive messages from an iPhone without the smartphone being nearby. However, some people prefer the flexibility of using devices from different brands, and it’s possible to pair an Android phone with an Apple Watch. Similarly, certain Samsung wearables can be paired with an iPhone.

There are 10 different Samsung watches that can be paired with an iPhone, but users expecting compatibility with newer models may be disappointed. Devices like the Galaxy Watch 7 or Watch Ultra use the Google Play Store, which makes them incompatible with iOS. In fact, many of the compatible devices are quite old — if a wearable runs on Samsung’s wearOS, it will not work with an iPhone.

Despite this, older Samsung devices such as those from the Gear, Fit, Galaxy Watch, and Active series can still be used with an iPhone. To do so, users will need to install the Galaxy Wearable app, which is available for free in the Apple App Store. While these older devices won’t support the latest features found in newer Galaxy Watches, they can still be useful and help reduce electronic waste. Meeting the minimum requirements for an iPhone and iOS should also be straightforward. Here’s what you need to know.

Compatible Samsung Wearables with an iPhone

For watches that are compatible with an Apple smartphone, the list is relatively short. From the Galaxy Watch series, only the original Galaxy Watch from 2018 is supported. Both the Galaxy Watch Active and the Active 2 are also compatible, though users must be running at least iOS 9 or newer on an iPhone 5 or later. If you’re using iOS 10 or later, the first-generation Galaxy Fit is another option.

Some models from Samsung’s Gear series are also compatible. These include the Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit 2 Pro, Gear Sport, and Gear S3. To pair these with an iPhone, users need an iPhone 5 or newer running iOS 9 or above. However, since these devices are outside the Samsung/Android ecosystem, not all features will function properly. For instance, receiving messages and phone notifications from the Samsung wearable may not work as expected.

It’s important to note that Samsung does not support iPads or any devices from the iPod touch lineup. Users with an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S+ might experience unstable connections. If you encounter an “Accessory not supported” error, there may be solutions available. While this list may not be exciting for those who love cutting-edge technology, it could be beneficial for individuals who already own one of these smart wearables and want to pair them with an iPhone, or for older devices that could be useful for children or elderly family members.
