Android and iPhone phones can now exchange files like AirDrop

Ease of file transfer between Android and iPhone with Quick Share
File transfer between devices is now easier, it can even be done between Android and iPhone users. Google presents a new feature called Quick Share which is now compatible with Apple’s file sharing system, AirDrop. This support was announced by Google on Thursday (20/11/2025) United States time.
“We introduced a way to make Quick Share work with AirDrop. This makes it easier to transfer files between iPhone and Android devices,” wrote Google on its official blog.
The Quick Share support with AirDrop has been available since Google’s announcement, but now it can only be tried by Google Pixel 10 Series mobile users. Google stated that it will expand similar support for other Android phones in the future.
According to Google, the support also includes the iPad and Mac. This means that Android device users can share files via Quick Share to iPhone, iPad, to Mac. Files that can be sent through this support include photos, videos, and other documents.
File Transfer Mechanism from Android Phone to Iphone
According to a TechCrunch report, Quick Share is currently compatible with AirDrop if the iPhone owner changes its device settings to be found by anyone. This can be done by activating the “Everyone for 10 minutes (everyone for 10 minutes)” mode on AirDrop.
This mode is an option that allows all users to detect devices that can share files via AirDrop. However, file delivery still requires approval.
With this mode, Android users can see the iPhone option as one of the available file recipient options when choosing the Quick Share feature.
Google explained that the “Everyone for 10 Minutes” mode is only needed at the initial stage only. The company will also open another, safer option in the future.
“The implementation of the use of Everyone for 10 Minutes mode is only the first step in the practice of seamless cross-platform sharing, and we welcome the opportunity to work with Apple to activate the contact-only mode in the future,” Google said.
Quick Share compatibility with AirDrop also applies in two directions. This means that iPhone users can also share files to an Android phone.
security in file delivery
Regarding security, Google emphasized that this support does not use alternative solutions, but direct. So, the data sent by the user is not through the server, so it is not recorded or stored on the server.
“We built this with security as the main thing, protecting your data with strong protection that has been tested by independent security experts,” said Google.
how to use quick share
According to a post on Instagram social media with the @Android handle, how to send files from an Android phone to an iPhone via Quick Share is as easy as transferring files to fellow Android users. The details of the method are as follows:
- Select the Quick Share menu
- Select the file to send
- Determine the recipient to send the file. Make sure the iPhone users who will receive the file have activated the “Everyone for 10 Minutes” mode
