Xiaomi 15T Series: Focus on Camera and Performance
Ahead of the official launch, the Xiaomi 15T series is attracting more and more attention. Leaked specifications circulating show that this latest series focuses on two main sectors: camera and performance. These two aspects are the main attraction for users who like mobile photography and need reliable performance for multitasking and gaming.
From the information circulating, two models will be released in Indonesia: Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. Both bring significant improvements over their predecessors. Xiaomi 15T Pro is powered by a more powerful processor. Despite many updates, the price of the Xiaomi 15T Series is maintained the same as the previous generation, showing Xiaomi’s efforts to balance innovation, performance and affordability.
Specifications and Design
Xiaomi 15T Pro comes with three rear cameras developed in collaboration with Leica. The main camera has a resolution of 50 MP with an Omnivision OVX9100 sensor which is known to produce sharp and natural photos. Apart from that, there is a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a 50 MP telephoto lens with a Samsung JN sensor. For selfies, this cellphone uses a Samsung S5KKDS sensor which produces photos with high detail. This sensor combination shows Xiaomi’s seriousness in working on the photography sector.
In terms of design, the Xiaomi 15T combines modern aesthetics with environmentally friendly materials. The back is available in elegant matte glass and synthetic leather options. The square-shaped rear camera module sticks out in the top left corner, providing a symmetrical and professional look. The device also has IP68 certification, making it dust and water resistant.
The Xiaomi 15T screen uses an AMOLED panel with 2K resolution, offering a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, ensuring the best visual quality for content consumption.
Runway and Performance Kitchen
The Xiaomi 15T is powered by the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset from Mediatek, which scored an AnTuTu score of up to 1.7 million points, placing it at the top of the mid-flagship class. Meanwhile, the Pro version comes with a more powerful Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset, reaching an AnTuTu score of over 2 million points. Both are paired with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB storage with LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 technology.
The phone comes out of the box with Android 15 and the HyperOS 2.0 interface, which promises four major operating system updates and five years of security updates. AI features have also been improved in this latest version.
Battery and Other Features
Both Xiaomi 15T Series models have a large capacity 5,500 mAh battery. The Pro version supports 90W fast charging, while the basic version gets 67W. Despite showing significant improvements, there are a few criticisms that have emerged. The 13 MP ultrawide camera feels inadequate for its class. However, overall, the phone offers complete connectivity, including 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, dual stereo speakers, NFC, and eSIM support.
The presence of the Xiaomi 15T Series in Indonesia is predicted to be a serious competitor for devices in the mid-flagship class, such as the Poco F7, iQOO Neo 10, and Oppo Reno 14 Series. The global launch is scheduled for early September, which will soon be followed by its presence in the Indonesian market.
