Google launches a teaser video for the Pixel 10 series with a narrative that satirizes Apple

Google has just released a short teaser video for the launch of its newest mobile phone candidate, the Pixel 10 Series. The video is shown on Google’s official YouTube channel, Made by Google. Within 30 seconds, the video title “Pixel 10 | Soon” only features the Pixel 10 design in a new color estimated to be called “Moonstone”. However, what distinguishes this video is the narration or the voice of the voice actor which is allegedly sarcastic Apple.

The narration in the video implies disappointment with Apple’s unrealized promise, especially regarding the AI update on Siri. This feature has been announced since a year ago, but until now it is still not present. The voice of the narrator said: “If you buy a new phone because of a feature that will be coming soon, even though it’s been a year. You can change your definition of immediately. Or you can just change your phone.” This message is reinforced by the visualization of the Pixel 10 design that shows its readiness for use now.

The backsound of this video also gives a sarcastic feel. The legendary song “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre was chosen as the accompaniment music. This song is often used in video memes and parodies on the internet, thus strengthening the satirical message that Google wants to convey. While Google doesn’t mention Apple’s name explicitly, the context is very clear to its top competitors.

A few days before the release of this teaser, a report from Bloomberg revealed the reason for the delay in AI-based Siri. Apparently, the problem comes from Apple’s own internal architecture.
