Live Translate AI Google is Coming to iPhone, No Longer Exclusive on Android

tonguetekno,

JAKARTA — Google has again expanded the accessibility of the real-time audio translation feature to the iOS ecosystem. This expansion marks the end of the exclusivity of the Live Translate feature on Android devices since debuting early last year.

This giant tech company integrates Gemini’s artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the accuracy and naturality of the voice translation. With this capability, users can now understand foreign conversations instantly through connected headphones.

This feature is now available in various key countries, including the United States, India, Mexico, Germany, Spain, and France. In addition, the service also covers areas such as Nigeria, Italy, England, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.

This real-time audio translation service supports more than 70 languages. At the local level, Indonesian, Javanese, and Sundanese have been included in the support list. Meanwhile, on an international scale, this service provides translations in languages such as English, traditional Chinese, Arabic, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and regional languages such as Afrikaans, Bengali, Hindi, Thai, and Zulu.

The presence of a variety of languages from Europe, Asia, to Africa strengthens the ability of cross-cultural translation for global users. Comprehensive local language integration aims to facilitate more inclusive communication in different parts of the world.

This technology update uses Gemini’s AI integration to eliminate translation results that seem rigid or literal. Google designed this feature so that users no longer experience fatal communication errors when navigating locations or interacting abroad.

“Live Translate is designed to help users follow conversations in complex environments while maintaining the emotional nuance of the speaker,” Google said in an official statement, Saturday (28/3/2026).

This software is claimed to be able to consistently maintain the original tone, emphasis, and rhythm of the original speaker’s voice. This allows the user to feel the original emotion of the speaker which is translated directly to the user’s ear.

According to the company, this capability makes it easier for users to identify who is talking in an environment that involves many participants. This experience provides a more immersive and accurate communication context for mobile users.

Operationally, this feature can be used for various practical needs such as attending international lectures or enjoying foreign films. Tourists can also use it to understand the announcements at the train station or follow a casual discussion at dinner.

To use this feature, iPhone users simply open the Google Translate application and select the “Live Translate” option before connecting the headphones. The simplified interface is expected to encourage wider adoption of AI technology among professional users.
