Xiaomi Releases Redmi A5 in Indonesia, First Global Launch for Entry-Level Market

Xiaomi officially releases its newest entry-level smartphone, Redmi A5, to the Indonesian market. This launch is also the first global debut of this device, marking Xiaomi’s commitment to providing affordable devices with superior features for consumers in the country.
Redmi A5 was launched at the same time as Redmi Pad SE 8.7, the latest tablet from Xiaomi.
“Redmi A5 was launched globally for the first time to the Indonesian public. We hope that this device can improve the digital experience for more and more consumers,” said Andi Renreng, Marketing Director of Xiaomi Indonesia, quoted from KompasTekno, Saturday (22/3/2025).
Featured Features: 120 Hz Refresh Rate and AI Camera
Even though it is in the entry-level segment, the Redmi A5 comes with quite impressive specifications. One of its flagship features is screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is generally only found on mid to upper class phones (flagship).
As a comparison, smartphones in the price range under IDR 3 million generally only have a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz. The high refresh rate provides a smoother visual experience, especially when scrolling the screen or enjoying multimedia content.
Apart from that, the Redmi A5 is also equipped with a main camera 32 MP with support AI night mode, which is claimed to be able to produce sharp photos in low lighting conditions.
