Anker Revolutionary AI chip, power saving for user devices

For nearly 80 years, modern chip architecture has been built on the basis of a concept introduced by John von Neumann in 1945. This concept separates processing and memory units, then moves data between the two continuously to carry out instructions. This approach is the foundation of various computing devices, ranging from mainframe computers, desktops, to data centers. However, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) began to show the limitations of the model.

On a neural network, millions of parameters are processed simultaneously. In wearable devices, data transfer between memory and processor actually consumes more than 90 percent of the chip’s power consumption, so that the remaining energy for computing is very minimal. To answer the challenge, Anker Innovations presented a new approach by placing the computational process directly in the Nor Flash memory cell, the location where the AI model was stored.

With this method, the model parameters no longer need to be moved back and forth, so that power consumption can be focused entirely on the AI computing process. The AI chip was first introduced through the earbuds and is claimed to be able to deliver AI computing performance up to 150 times higher for the environmental noise cancellation feature compared to the previous Anker flagship earphone generation.

New AI features and innovations offered

The first feature that this chip brings is Clear Calls, which runs a large neural network completely on-device. The technology is supported by eight MEMS microphones and two bone conduction sensors to produce clearer call sound quality in various environmental conditions. In addition, Anker also introduced other AI features such as Signature Sound and Voice Control in the Anker Day event.

“Until now, every AI chip created always keeps the model on one side and performs computing on the other. To be able to think, the device must move all these parameters back and forth, many times per second, in every inference process. Thus, the model does not need to change places anymore,” said Steven, who in his statement.

The first earbuds to use AI thus chips are the Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max. Both devices are equipped with the Whisper Clear Calls feature that relies on the AI Neural Network model with a total of 10 sensors to capture more clearly in various situations. Call quality technology has even obtained Guinness World Record certification.

Especially for the Liberty 5 Pro Max, this device also brings the innovation of the world’s first smart screen earbuds equipped with AI Note-taker. Through the 1.78-inch AMOLED screen on the casing, the device can record meetings, make automatic transcripts, to summarize Action Items directly on the device without the need for a cloud connection. This product is scheduled to be present in Indonesia in June.

Anker Day 2026 and the latest innovations

Meanwhile, Anker Innovations itself again held the Anker Day 2026 with the theme Where Ultimate Meets Possible in Storied, New York City. In this year’s event, Anker introduced a number of innovations from various brands under his auspices. From the Soundcore line, there are Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max which are the first earbuds with the support of AI thus chips.

In addition, the AI VibeOS and Spaceflow Nebula platforms were also introduced. From the energy line, the Anker Solix S2000 is present as a home power back-up station with a capacity of 2kWh with the longest claimed durability in the world. Meanwhile, Eufy presents EdgeAgent, an AI-based home security agent, and the latest Smart Baby Care products.

All of these innovations are indeed supported by AI thus, Anker’s AI chip platform which is known as the world’s first neural network-based AI compute-in-memory chip.

Anker Innovations Journey

Anker’s own journey starts from the power bank product. The company, which was founded in 2011, launched a 4,500mAh ultra-thin power bank in 2012 as its first product. From there, Anker continues to develop various charging technologies and electronic devices that focus on high performance and compact design.
