Google Introduces AI Shortcuts for Search Widgets on Android

Introduction of AI Mode in Google Search Widget for Android Devices
Google has introduced a new feature known as AI Mode through search widgets on Android devices. This feature provides direct access to AI mode with just one touch of the home screen, not only on Pixel devices but also on other Android devices.
The AI Mode shortcut first appeared last April, especially for Google application beta users. However, several times this feature disappeared and reappeared unexpectedly. Now, the update has been widely released for beta and stable users of the Google 16.28 application.
The AI Mode icon will appear in a separate circle on the right side of the sound microphone icon and Google Lens in the latest widget design. To enable this feature, the user simply presses the widget on the home screen, then selects the Settings or Edit menu to open customization options, including themes and transparency. This setting can also be accessed through the Google application settings list.
This feature allows users to directly enter the prompt into the full mode AI screen, similar to the usual search process. Thus, users can access Google’s AI capabilities more easily and quickly.
For users who haven’t joined the Search Lab program for AI Mode, the Google app display still uses old designs. In this version, the AI Mode shortcut only comes in capsule form in the colored carousel under the search field, not being part of that column.
Google advises users to register in the program in order to enjoy a new, more concise design and access additional features such as Search Live. With this feature, users will get a more efficient and sophisticated search experience.
Some of the benefits offered by AI Mode include:
- Quick access to AI features without the need to skip complicated steps.
- The ability to send prompts directly to the AI mode screen.
- More flexible customization options, including themes and transparency.
- A neater and more modern look than the previous version.
With this innovation, Google has strengthened its position as a leading search service provider, while continuing to develop features that are smarter and easier for users to use.
