Google introduces two new features in Gemini: Personal Response and Temporary Chat

A new feature that changes the user experience in the Gemini app
Google has just launched two new features on its AI chatbot application, namely Personalized response and Temporary Chats. Both of these features are present specifically for Gemini application users on Android devices. With these features, users will get a more personal experience and better privacy when interacting with chatbots.
Personalization Response: More Relevant Answers
The Personalization Response feature allows Gemini to customize answers based on previous conversation history. This makes the response given more in line with user preferences and needs. For example, if a user has ever talked about a character in a favorite comic, then asks about a birthday party idea, Gemini can give advice on a theme inspired by the character, including the appropriate decorations and photo properties.
This feature works like an extension of “Memory”, which allows chatbots to store certain information so that the next answer is more relevant. However, this feature is only available in versions Gemini 2.5 Pro, and cannot be used in Europe, Switzerland, or the UK. Google plans to expand access to this feature to the model Gemini 2.5 Flash and more countries in the next few weeks.
Temporary Chats: Better Privacy Options
Meanwhile, features Temporary Chats Present as a privacy option. With this feature, user conversations are not stored on Google servers and are not used to train AI models. Conversation data in temporary chats is only temporarily stored on the AI server for user response and input, a maximum of 72 hours, before being permanently deleted.
This feature is similar to the one already in ChatGPT, which is a product of OpenAI. With temporary chats, users can discuss sensitive topics without worrying about their data being used for AI training. Google explains that this feature will be rolled out gradually to all users in the coming weeks.
How to set up and disable features
Google confirms that when this feature is active, it will run by default. However, users can still disable it through the menu Settings > Personal Context > Your Past Chat with Gemini in the application. In addition, users can also manage or delete conversations via Gemini Apps Activity.
With the personalization response and temporary chats, Google has strengthened Gemini’s position as one of the AI chatbots that is able to offer a more personal and secure experience. In the near future, users in various regions will begin to feel the benefits of these features.
