Honda’s first hydrogen car

Mobil Crossover Hidrogen ini Dapat Diisi Ulang dari Stopkontak Listrik

Honda Motor, a Japanese company that has been producing passenger vehicles with hydrogen fuel cells since 2002, has re-entered the market with the CR-V E:FCEV model this year. Honda’s first hydrogen car offers consumers in the United States and Japan a crossover that combines hydrogen fuel cells with the ability to charge traction batteries from external power grids.

Honda’s first hydrogen car

According to the Nikkei Asian Review, Honda took an unusual step by creating this E:FCEv crossover. First of all, the use of the CR-V crossover platform that is popular in the market guarantees stable demand for this car and also reduces the cost of developing new models. Second, Honda managed to save on the cost of developing a new generation of fuel cells by borrowing technology from General Motors. Finally, the ability of this car to charge up to 60 km from the reach at conventional plug-in charging stations is intended to reduce customer concerns about the limitations of hydrogen charging stations.

Launch of CR-V E:FCEV in Strategic Market

The CR-V E:FCEV will be launched in Japan and California this summer. The selection of California is not a coincidence, because the American state is known for its popular local market for all vehicles with environmentally friendly power generation technology. In addition, there is a network of hydrogen filling stations, making it easier for car owners to operate. The full hydrogen tank can be recharged within one to three minutes, after which you can drive this car with a range of more than 600 km by simply releasing water vapor as an exhaust gas. The internal crossover power system is also designed to supply electricity to external consumers. It is not only useful when organizing outdoor recreation, but also during natural disasters.

Honda has taken eco-friendly vehicles to the next level by introducing the CR-V E:FCEV. With a combination of hydrogen fuel cells and the charging capability of the power grid, this car promises an environmentally friendly driving experience without compromising comfort or performance. Thus, Honda has once again proven their commitment to innovation and sustainability in the global automotive industry.
