The spike in Bitcoin increases interest in crypto trading in Indonesia

Crypto Market Growth in Indonesia
The price of Bitcoin again recorded a record high in July 2025, with a value that exceeded the figure of USD 123,000. This increase not only attracted global attention, but also had a significant impact on the domestic crypto market. In the midst of this spike in the price of the main digital assets, public interest in crypto investment is increasing, especially in the form of derivatives such as futures trading.
The use of derivative trading services on various local crypto platforms has increased significantly. One example is the door application, which records a surge in active users of door futures by almost 45 percent on a quarterly basis. In this momentum, the door held a competition titled Door Futures Trading Competition: Profit Racer.
This competition offers an initial prize of IDR 85 million in the form of USDT stablecoins. In addition, the potential for increasing prizes can be obtained along with the increasing volume of participants’ transactions. This competition allows participants to trade more than 150 popular tokens, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), as well as meme tokens such as Dogecoin (DOGE) and Pepe (PEPE).
With features such as leverage up to 25x, as well as tools such as take profit and stop loss, participants are expected to improve their strategy and risk management. However, although the lively competition looks interesting, the data shows that the Indonesian crypto derivative market is still relatively small.
Based on data from the local crypto exchange CFX, the value of derivative transactions in Indonesia in May 2025 only reached Rp 9.61 trillion. This figure is very far from global data from Coinglass, which recorded the trading volume of cryptocurrencies reaching US$ 397 billion or around Rp 6.475 trillion as of mid-July 2025.
The big difference between the domestic and global markets shows that the Indonesian crypto market, especially the derivative segment, still has a lot of room to develop. However, challenges such as education, regulation, and understanding risk are homework for industry players and the government.
Iskandar Mohammad, Head of Product Marketing at Pintu, emphasized the importance of a careful approach in the midst of this trend. “We believe the volume of derivative trading will continue to increase. But it is also important to prioritize risk management and do our own research before investing,” he said in a statement.
In the midst of the increasingly rapid flow of digital investment, the growth of the Indonesian crypto industry really depends on how smart the public understands the opportunities and dangers that exist. And competitions like this, like it or not, become one of the entrances to get to know the world of derivatives more deeply. With this kind of initiative, it is hoped that the community can be better prepared to face the dynamics of the crypto market that continues to grow.
