The Russian government encourages the use of local messaging apps
The Russian government is strengthening its digital policy by encouraging its citizens to use a domestically made messaging application called Max. However, this step actually raises various concerns and rejections from some people.

Although promoted as a national messaging application, not all Russians feel comfortable using it. Some users claim to be forced to download Max out of necessity, such as for certain jobs or services. However, they still limit their use because they feel uncomfortable.
Some users also refuse to use the application. They prefer to keep using old applications that are already familiar, even though access is now limited. On the other hand, there are also some residents who don’t mind and start switching to Max, even leaving other applications.

The head of the information portal of Telecomdaily Denis Kuskov assessed that the use of the application should be a personal choice, not an obligation.
