Latest Launch of Vivo Y50 5G and Y50m 5G in the Chinese Market
Chinese cellphone manufacturer, Vivo, has just launched two new models from the Y-series line, namely Vivo Y50 5G and Vivo Y50m 5G. These two devices were released on the Chinese market on Monday (21/7/2025) and offer various interesting features that are suitable for early class users.
These two smartphones have almost the same design and specifications. The main difference only lies in the RAM configuration. Vivo Y50 5G comes with 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB and 12 GB RAM variants. Meanwhile, the Vivo Y50m 5G does not provide a 4 GB RAM option, and the lowest variant is 6 GB. Apart from that, other specifications such as screen, battery and operating system are exactly the same between the two models.
Highlighted Features: Super Jumbo Battery and Fast Charging
One of the main advantages of these two cellphones is their very large battery capacity. Both are equipped with a 6,000 mAh capacity battery which supports fast charging of 44 watts. With this battery, users can use their cellphone for a longer time without worrying about running out of power.
For performance, both models are powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6300 chipset. This chipset is supported by 128 GB or 256 GB internal storage, making it suitable for users who need quite large storage space.
Attractive Design and Screen
In terms of design, the Vivo Y50 5G and Y50m 5G are equipped with a 6.74 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels (HD Plus) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. This screen provides a smooth visual experience and is comfortable to use.
In the top center of the screen, there is a waterdrop module which contains a 5 MP selfie camera. On the back side, there are two additional cameras with a resolution of 13 MP and VGA (0.08 MP) respectively. Even though the camera resolution is not very high, it can still be used for basic purposes.
Operating Systems and Security
Vivo Y50 5G and Y50m 5G run the Android 15 operating system with the OriginOS 5 interface. This system offers a modern appearance and easy-to-use features. Apart from that, these two cellphones weigh 204 grams and are 8.2 mm thick, making them comfortable to hold.
Both models are also water and dust resistant with an IP64 rating. This provides extra protection for users who often use it in less than ideal environments.
Color Choices and Prices
In the Chinese market, these two cellphones are available in three color variants, namely Azure, Diamond Black and Platinum. The prices offered also vary according to RAM and storage configuration. For the Vivo Y50 5G, prices start from 1,199 yuan (around Rp. 2.7 million) for the 4/128 GB variant. Meanwhile, the Vivo Y50m 5G is priced starting from 1,499 yuan (around Rp. 3.4 million) for the 6/128 GB variant.
Until now, there is no definite information whether these two newest Vivo models will enter the Indonesian market or not. However, with attractive offers, it is likely that these two cellphones will become an attractive choice for consumers in the country.
