WhatsApp Prepares New Incoming Call Feature

WhatsApp New Feature: Voice Message for Missed Calls

WhatsApp, one of the largest instant messaging platforms in the world, is reportedly developing a new feature that will make it easier for users to manage missed calls. This feature is called “Voice message for missed calls” and is currently in the beta testing stage.

This feature was first revealed by the WABetaInfo site, which is known as a source of information about new features that will soon be released by WhatsApp. According to their report, the “Voice message for missed calls” feature is available in beta for Android users, but not yet available for iOS users.

When there is a missed call, users will see three buttons at the bottom of the application screen. The three buttons are Cancel (cancel the call), Record voice message (record a voice message), and Call again (make a redial call). The option to record voice messages is a new feature, because previously there were only two options available, namely canceling the call or redialing.

In chat rooms, missed call notifications are also equipped with a “Record voice message” button right below the information. This allows users to record voice messages at any time, either immediately after a missed call or some time afterward.

WABetaInfo assesses that this feature will really help users in emergency situations or when the recipient of the call cannot answer the phone. For example, when you have difficulty getting a signal, are in a meeting, or are in other urgent situations. With this feature, users can immediately record voice messages and send them without the need to redial.

The recorded voice message sent will go directly to the chat room, so that the recipient can immediately listen to the contents of the message. This makes the communication process more efficient and remains connected even if the call is missed.

However, WABetaInfo also states that this feature does not always appear on all calls. Voicemail recordings only appear on missed calls and serve as a reminder to respond immediately if there is a pending call.

Although this feature is still in testing, users can expect an official release. Currently, there is no definite information on when this feature will be available for the public version. Apart from that, WhatsApp has not announced plans to develop a similar feature for iOS users.

Along with the development of this feature, WhatsApp seems to be increasingly focused on improving the user experience in terms of communication. Some time ago, they also launched a feature to schedule voice and video calls within the application. This feature is similar to Zoom Meeting, which aims to make it easier for users to organize call schedules in a more structured manner.

With integration into the smartphone’s default Calendar application, users will receive reminder notifications before the scheduled call begins. This will ensure that users do not miss important calls.

To be able to get the latest features from WhatsApp, make sure to always update your application, both the Android version via the Google Play Store and the iOS version via the Apple App Store. That way, you will always be the first to get the latest innovations from WhatsApp.
