Ayaneo Flip DS and Flip KB: Newest Folding Gaming Console 2024
Ayaneo has introduced two new portable gaming consoles, namely Ayaneo Flip DS and Flip KB. These two products were first introduced in October last year, and now all the technical details and prices have been revealed.
Technical specifications
Both consoles, the Ayaneo Flip DS and Flip KB, have a similar folding form factor, a 7-inch screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a sophisticated processor. Both devices are based on the Ryzen 7 7840U and Ryzen 7 8840U mobile chips. This processor has eight Zen 4 cores with 16 threads, speeds up to 5.1GHz, as well as 16MB L3 Cache and 780M Radeon GPU with 12 execution units. The latest chip is equipped with a more powerful Neural XDNA engine. Both processors have a TDP of 28 W. This console is equipped with a cooling system using an evaporative room and a fan.
Special features
One of the special features of the Ayaneo Flip DS console is that it comes with two screens. The main screen of this new product uses an IPS matrix with a 7-inch diagonal, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and supports a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. Additional screens also use IPS technology, have a size of 3.5 inches (3:2 aspect ratio), and support a resolution of 960 × 640 pixels. The existence of the second screen makes this console similar to the Nintendo 3DS console.
The Ayaneo Flip DS version of this console is different from the keyboard instead of a second screen. The use of Hall effect triggers has been announced for the console, as well as the touchpad that works as a mouse. Both set-top boxes are equipped with LPDDR5X-6400 RAM of 16, 32, or 64 GB, and an SSD of 512 GB or 2 TB. There is no version for 1TB of permanent storage.

The set-top box version with an additional screen is about $40 more expensive in all configurations.

The set-top box option with the Ryzen 7 8840U starts at $739 or around 11.6 million rupiah for the flip KB version (with a keyboard) and $779 or around 12.3 million rupiah for the Flip DS (with an additional screen). In the maximum configuration, the retail cost is $1,439 or around 22.7 million rupiah and $1,479 or around 23.3 million rupiah for the price of each type.
