Redmi Watch 6 releases with Apple-like buttons and HyperOS 3
INTRODUCTION TO REDMI WATCH 6
Gadget vendor Xiaomi has launched its newest smart watch, the Redmi Watch 6. This smartwatch was released in China by favoring the aspect of long durability, large screens and deep integration with the HyperOS ecosystem.
Redmi Watch 6 is the successor to Redmi Watch 5 which was released in November 2024 in China. Although at first glance it has something in common with its predecessor, which both have a square screen, the Redmi Watch 6 comes with some significant changes.
New designs and features
One of the new features offered is the new button placed under the Crown button. This concept makes the Redmi Watch 6 similar to the Apple Watch. This button is referred to as a “sub-key” or a kind of secondary button that serves as a shortcut to access a number of features that can be customized by the user.
In addition, this smart watch is also designed to be slimmer than its predecessor. The body thickness is only 9.9 mm, thinner than the Redmi Watch 5 which has a thickness of 11.3 mm. In addition, the Redmi Watch 6 also brings higher screen brightness and other features.
Technical specifications
Redmi Watch 6 comes with a 2.07-inch AMOLED screen, 432×514 pixels resolution, peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The screen size is a bit larger than the 1.59-inch Redmi Watch 5 with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits.
The Redmi Watch 6 screen features a thin bezel, only 2 millimeters (mm) on all four sides, accompanied by a screen-to-body ratio of 82 percent. Xiaomi also embeds always-on display support that will display notifications and time information, even if the screen is off.
This smart watch is designed using an aluminum frame and supports the use of a strap that can be replaced between silicone strap options or synthetic leather.

The Redmi Watch 6 is equipped with a 550 mAh battery like its predecessor. This capacity is claimed to support the durability of the smartwatch for up to 24 days in basic mode, 12 days for fair use of the smartwatch and seven days when the AOD feature is activated. Charging the battery supports magnetic charging.
This smartwatch runs with the HyperOS 3 interface, which allows devices to connect smoothly with smartphones, smarthome devices, and vehicles. So users can control household appliances, unlock the car to access device notifications from the smartwatch.
Health and sports features
This smartwatch also supports the Xiaomi AI voice support and allows Android users to reply to WeChat messages directly from the smartwatch. Redmi Watch 6 features a number of health indicator tracking features including a 24-hour heart monitor, blood oxygen level monitor, sleep tracker, stress detection and women’s health management.
This smartwatch supports more than 150 sports modes including automatic walking tracker, running to cycling. This smartwatch also supports 5ATM water resistance certification, so it can be invited to swim and activities in the water with shallow depths.
Additional features
Other features are Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, music player, voice recorder, compass, weather update, calendar synchronization to remote camera control.
Price and color variant
Redmi Watch 6 was released in China in three color options, namely Misty Blue, Elegant Black, and Moonlight Silver. This smartwatch is priced at 599 yuan or the equivalent of around Rp. 1.3 million.
