iPhone 18 Pro Specification Leaked: Battery Capacity and Latest Technology

A number of information about the iPhone 18 Pro series re-emerged ahead of its launch. This time, the 3C certification document in China provides insight into the battery capacity that will be carried by the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Because it comes from regulator documents, this kind of leak is generally considered to have a fairly high level of accuracy.

Based on the certification data, the Chinese version of the iPhone 18 Pro will be equipped with a 4,056 mAh battery, while the variant for the United States market reaches 4,288 mAh. This figure is greater than the iPhone 17 Pro, each of which has a 3,988 mAh battery for the Chinese market and 4,252 mAh for the US market. This finding is also in line with the previous leak from the digital chat station leaker who first mentioned the increase in battery capacity in the pro model.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to bring a more striking improvement. The certification document shows the battery capacity of 5,391 mAh for the Chinese version and 5,567 mAh on the United States model. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is only equipped with a 4,823 mAh battery in China and 5,088 mAh in the US. Thus, this latest generation is estimated to experience an increase in capacity of around 500 mAh.

Apple is known to prioritize hardware and software efficiency rather than pursuing a large battery capacity. In contrast to a number of manufacturers from China such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus who have long presented flagship phones with a battery above 7,000 mAh. However, the increase in battery capacity to close to 5,600 mAh on the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to provide better durability, especially when combined with an A20 Pro chip based on a 2 nanometer manufacturing process which is rumored to offer higher power efficiency.

Other Changes to iPhone 18 Pro

Not only the battery sector, a number of other specifications from the iPhone 18 Pro series have also started to appear. This device is believed to be Apple’s first line to use the A20 Pro chipset with 2 nm fabrication. From the design side, Apple is said to not make big changes. However, the size of Dynamic Island is expected to be made smaller thanks to some of the Face ID components that are likely to be moved to the bottom of the screen.
