OpenAI Announces New Features, Canva Can Now Be Accessed and Edited in ChatGPT
Canva and ChatGPT integration: Create and edit designs directly in conversation
OpenAI and Canva have just launched the latest integration feature that allows users to create, view, and edit designs directly in ChatGPT without having to switch to another tab. With this innovation, the creative process becomes more efficient and faster, because all steps can be done in one conversation.
This feature allows users to do research, brainstorming, and compose pitch decks just by providing a simple prompt. In addition, users can also preview the design directly, as provided by Canva. The process of mass editing of text on dozens of slides can also be done in an instant, thus saving the time it usually takes for hours.
Improved previous integration
The integration between Canva and ChatGPT has previously allowed users to search and summarize Canva’s content in the chatbot. However, now users no longer need to open new tabs or leave conversations to view, create, or edit designs. This is a significant development of previous integration.
This update was first announced by OpenAI at the Devday 2025 Annual Developer Conference on Monday (6/10/2025). Canva then confirmed this through an official statement on Thursday (9/10/2025).

In his statement, Canva explained that users can take advantage of the deep research capabilities of CHATGPT for research and brainstorming presentation materials, marketing content, or others. This research is accelerated with the ability of chatgpt to process PDF files or reference links that are imported by users, without the need to upload them to ChatGPT.
After the brainstorming process is complete, the user can directly type a prompt in everyday language, such as “Canva, create a pitch deck based on this conversation” to create a presentation design.
