Must Install! Complete Installation and Attendance Guide in the East Java BKD E-Presence Application for Part Time PPPK

Understanding the Electronic Attendance System for Part-Time PPPK in East Java
In the era of formal work as a part-time Government Employee with a Work Agreement (PPPK), one of the main obligations that must be understood is the electronic attendance system. Different from the honorary period, now you are required to take daily attendance via the East Java BKD E-Presence application (East Java Presence) which is connected directly to the personnel system. This guide will guide you step by step, starting from downloading the application, overcoming login problems, to getting to know the main features.
Why is E-Presence Mandatory?
As a Non-PNS State Civil Apparatus (ASN), your activities are now tied to Employee Performance Targets (SKP). Attendance recorded in the e-Presence system becomes physical evidence and official data that supports the achievement of the SKP. This system uses coordinate points (geolocation) that have been determined based on the location of your work unit, thus ensuring that attendance is carried out in the proper place. This is part of discipline and accountability as a state apparatus.
Step 1: Download and Install the East Java Presence Application
The installation process is very easy and only requires an Android phone (for iOS/iPhone, ensure compatibility from official sources).
- Open Google Play Store on your Android phone.
- Search for the application with the keywords “Jatim Presence” or “E-Presence BKD Jatim” in the search column.
- Download and install the official application published by the East Java Provincial Government or the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD). Click “Install” and wait for the process to complete.
Step 2: Login to the App with Proper Credentials
Once the application is installed, open the application. You will be presented with the login page.
- Username: Enter your NIP.
- Password: Enter your NIP (same as username).
- Enable GPS/Location: Make sure your phone’s location services (GPS) is turned ON. The application needs it to verify your absence coordinates.
“Invalid NIP” Login Problem and Solution
If the error message “Invalid NIP” appears, don’t panic. This is most likely caused by:
- Data Synchronization Process: Your NIP data from the main system (SIMASTER) may still be in the process of being synchronized to the e-Presence system. This process involves thousands of data at once and takes time (can be several hours to a maximum of 1×24 hours).
What To Do:
– Be patient and wait.
– Try re-logging in periodically every few hours. Make sure the NIP you enter is correct.
– Monitor the latest information in the official WhatsApp group of your agency or service branch, because the admin usually provides confirmation when synchronization has been completed.
Step 3: Get to know the Dashboard and Main E-Presence Features
After successfully logging in, you will see the application dashboard. Here are the main menus and features you need to be familiar with:
- Home/Home: Displays working hours, date, and main buttons for “Come In” (Absence In) and “Home” (Absence Out). Click “Come” when arriving at the work location and “Go Home” when leaving.
- Reports/Attendance: Contains a complete history of your attendance, including date, entry time, departure time, and status (Present, Late, etc.).
- External Service/Permit/Leave: Menu to apply for permission to not enter (sick leave, personal leave, external service, leave) digitally. You need to select the permission type and fill in the information.
- Change Password: It is recommended to immediately change the default password (NIP) to a more secure combination after the first login.
- Data Sync: Use this feature if a mutation or change in work unit data occurs. Make sure the data in SIMASTER is correct first, then synchronize it in this application.
- Logout: Always use the logout feature after finishing using the application, especially if accessing from a shared cellphone.
Important Tips and Etiquette for Use
- Absent at the Right Location: Make sure you are within the permitted radius around your agency’s coordinates when taking absences. Absence from home or other location will fail.
- Check Internet Connection: Make sure the internet signal (Wi-Fi or cellular data) is stable when absent to avoid sending failures.
- Immediately apply for permission if you are unable to do so: If you are sick or unable to do so, immediately apply for permission via the application before entry time, or according to the procedures established by the agency. Don’t leave the absence column blank without information.
- Monitor Official Groups: Always actively monitor official communication groups for the latest information regarding technical attendance, system disruptions, or other important announcements.
Adaptation to Structured Digital Systems
The presence of the e-Presence application marks a shift towards a more digitalized and scalable work system. Even though at the beginning there may be technical obstacles such as the synchronization process, understanding the basic flow and features will make it easier for you to adapt. By being disciplined in taking attendance, you will not only fulfill administrative obligations, but also build a track record of good performance from your first day on duty.
