Polestar Phone: the latest innovation in the electric car ecosystem

In early September, Polestar announced its plans to launch an exclusive smartphone that is more integrated with its electric vehicles. Now, the company has introduced the Polestar Phone design at the Polestar Day event. A video of the event has appeared online.

Inspiring Design from Meizu

Apparently, this new product is made in the corporate style Meizu, which is also seen in the Meizu 20 series, with a metal frame with curved corners and a triple camera. The placement of the camera in a separate ring effectively highlights the design. In the close-up image of the video, it can be seen that the main camera has a 23mm lens with an aperture of f/1.9, while the other cameras have a 70mm telephoto lens with an aperture of f/2.0. This trio is equipped with a 15mm wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.4.

Brand Identity and Display

This smartphone has a flat screen with a cut for the selfie camera. There is a brand with a “polestar” text carving shape on the side of the device and the company logo on the back.

Unique integration with electric vehicles

It is important to note how Polestar plans to integrate its smartphone with electric vehicles. Meizu, which has been a part of Geely since last year, has its own car software, Flyme Auto. However, according to reports from Chinese sources, Polestar Phone can offer users a new interface – Polestar OS, which is likely to be developed with Meizu’s participation.

The company positioned the Polestar Phone as a flagship device, so this smartphone uses high-end hardware. This means at least using the third-generation Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, great RAM, and fast charging technology. Polestar Phone is expected to be launched exclusively for the Chinese market.
