Twitter Take Legal Action Against Threads?
Twitter is considering taking legal action against meta-related competitor applications, Threads.
Threads, which were launched to millions of users on Wednesday, have in common with Twitter and are described by Meta bosses as a “friendly” alternative.
Elon Musk tweeted tweeted that “the competition was legitimate, but fraud was not” – but Meta denied the claims in a published legal letter that former Twitter staff helped create the threads.
More than 30 million people have signed up threads, according to Meta.

“Twitter is determined to protect its intellectual property rights and demands Meta to immediately stop the use of any Twitter trade secrets or highly confidential information,” the letter reads.
“Twitter retains all rights, including but not limited to the right to seek compensation in a civil and injunctive settlement without further notice.”
BBC News, which has seen a copy of the letter, has contacted Meta and Twitter to provide feedback.
