Xiaomi Redmi 15R Launched in China: Great Specifications, Prices Starting at IDR 3.4 Million

Redmi 15R Flagship Specifications
Redmi 15R comes with attractive specifications in the entry-level class, making it an attractive choice for users who are looking for a device with great performance but at an affordable price. The 6.9 inch LCD screen with Full HD Plus resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) is equipped with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, providing a smooth visual experience for gaming and streaming needs. A touch sampling rate of 288 Hz also increases screen responsiveness, making it suitable for active users.
The screen design has a thick bezel with a punch hole for the 8 MP selfie camera, which is sufficient for video calls and casual photos. On the back, this cellphone is equipped with a 50 MP main camera with AI technology, which is capable of producing sharp photos, especially in bright light conditions. Although details of the additional lenses are not yet fully known, speculation suggests there will be a 2 MP lens for depth or macro.
Performance and Operating System
In the performance sector, the Redmi 15R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (6nm) chipset, combined with 8 GB or 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM options and up to 512 GB UFS 2.2 storage, plus a microSDXC slot for expansion up to 1 TB. The Android 15-based HyperOS 2 operating system offers two years of OS updates and four years of security, ensuring the device’s longevity.
Additional Features
Other interesting features include IP64 certification for water and dust resistance, Dolby audio, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack which is increasingly rare in its class. The presence of an audio jack and microSD slot makes the Redmi 15R very practical for entry-level users who prioritize functionality.
Jumbo Battery with Silicon-Carbon Technology
One of the main advantages of the Redmi 15R is the 7,000 mAh battery with silicon-carbon technology, which is claimed to maintain 80 percent capacity after four years of use. This battery supports 33 watt fast charging and 18 watt reverse charging, allowing the cellphone to function as a power bank. Charging from 0 to 100 percent is estimated to take around 90 minutes.
Although some users regret the use of a microUSB port instead of USB-C, this feature is still a plus due to its long battery life and good power efficiency.

Redmi 15R is available in the Chinese market with three competitive price variants:
