BYD ATTO 1 launch at GIIAS 2025 attracts visitors’ attention
BYD ATTO 1 was officially launched in Indonesia at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). At the event, this electric car became the center of attention of visitors, especially at the BYD booth. The appearance and features offered make many people interested to know more about this car.
One of the main reasons why BYD ATTO 1 is in demand is its affordable price. This car comes in two variants, with prices ranging from Rp. 195 million to Rp. 235 million for the highest version. This price is considered competitive compared to other electric cars circulating in the Indonesian market.
Luther T. Panjaitan, Head of Marketing Pr & Government Relations of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, explained that the new products launched are often the prima donna in automotive exhibitions. He said, “Based on our experience at various automotive exhibitions, the newly launched units are usually the most in demand and have a significant impact.”
However, in addition to the launch factor, price is also one of the important aspects that influence public interest in a vehicle. With a price of Rp. 195 million, the BYD ATTO 1 is equipped with a 30 kWh battery that can cover a distance of up to 300 km. This feature makes it an attractive choice for consumers who are looking for an electric car with good performance but affordable prices.
Luther also leaked a little secret why BYD can offer a low price. “We produce our own main components such as batteries, motorcycles, to software,” he said. “Because the entire production process is under our control, production costs can be fully controlled.”
He added, “This efficiency is real, not just a pricing strategy. Our cost structure is indeed low because of the integrated internal processes.” This shows that the advantage of BYD lies not only in price, but also in efficiency and strict quality control.
With the price it has, the BYD ATTO 1 is equivalent to several small electric cars circulating in Indonesia such as Wuling Air EV and Vinfast VF3. However, this car has capabilities that are equivalent to models such as Wuling Binguoev and Neta V. With a combination of price, performance, and complete features, the BYD ATTO 1 seems to be a strong competitor in the Indonesian electric car market.
