Can you install the Honda Vario 125 Street handlebars on the standard variant?

Honda Vario 125 now comes in a new variant called Street. This variant offers a different look and driving experience compared to the previous version. Like Beat Street, the Vario 125 Street uses wider and open handlebars, giving this bike a sporty impression.

The open handlebars on the Honda Vario 125 Street immediately changed the user’s driving position. This is due to the difference in the dimensions of the handlebars used. The handlebars on the street variant have different sizes compared to other variants.

“The handlebars are 70 mm wider, 41 mm taller, and 64 mm backwards compared to other variants,” explained Ade Muhajir from the Technical Service Division (TSD) team of PT Astra Honda Motor to Lidahtekno to Lidahtekno.

This change makes the riding position on the Honda Vario 125 Street feel more relaxed and comfortable when used. If observed in detail, the handlebars on the Street variant look like Plug n Play (PNP), because it is equipped with a raiser as a holder. However, can these handlebars be installed on standard variants that still use handlebars as before?

“You can’t because the routing and cable holder are definitely different,” replied Ade.

This difference is caused by the position of the handlebars that are wider and higher than the CBS and CBS ISS variants with the Honda Smart Key System (HSS).

“The length of the cable must be different,” he added.

In addition, the handlebar holder in the usual variant is not in the form of a raiser as in the Street variant. Therefore, the vario 125 street handlebars cannot be directly installed in the usual variant. If you want to install it, you need some modifications to suit the vehicle structure.

Advantages of the vario 125 street handlebars

Here are some of the advantages offered by the handlebars on the Street variant:

  • More spacious and comfortable

Wider handlebars provide better motion space for the driver, so that the driving position becomes more relaxed.

  • Higher position and backward

Higher handlebar height and backward position help the driver feel more stable while driving.

  • Plug and play design

The handlebars on the Street variant are designed to be easy to install, because they are equipped with a raiser as a holder.

However, even though the design looks simple, these handlebars cannot be used in all variants due to technical differences. Users must consider these differences before making modifications.

Conclusion

The Honda Vario 125 Street variant offers a different driving experience from the previous model. With the handlebars that are wider and open, this motorbike is suitable for riders who want comfort and style. However, the use of these handlebars is limited to the Street variant only, due to technical differences in the cable and mount systems.
