XL Smart (EXCL) Introduces XL Ultra 5G+ in Hundreds of Indonesian Cities and Regencies
Launch of XL Ultra 5G+ in various cities
PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (EXCL) through the XL service brand, announced the simultaneous launch of the XL Ultra 5G+ service in various cities and districts in Indonesia. This service was released in Jakarta, Blora, Demak, Grobogan, Jepara, Kudus, Tuban, Binjai, Bantul, Banjarmasin, Deli Serdang, Medan, Boyolali, Karanganyar, Depok, and South Tangerang. The inauguration was held on Friday (30/1) in two main cities, namely Jakarta and Surabaya.
President Director & CEO of XLSMART, Rajeev Sethi explained that since the beginning of 2026, XLSMART has officially provided even 5G services (blanket coverage) with XL Ultra 5G+. This service is available in a total of 20 cities/regencies including Jakarta, after previously being present in 13 other cities/regencies such as Denpasar and Badung Bali, Semarang, Makassar and other cities at the end of December last year.
“We provide 5G services evenly in all reachable areas,” said Rajeev in his statement. “With this blanket coverage, all areas in these cities and districts will be fully covered by XL Ultra 5G+ services. XLSMART is the first network provider to provide 5G services evenly in all reachable areas.”

Rajeev added that providing blanket 5G networks and services is a form of XLSMART’s commitment to Move Together, Moving Without Limits. The goal is to provide convenience, comfort and the best experience for customers and people in Indonesia.
XL Ultra 5G+ is the fifth generation internet service from XLSMART which offers ultra high speed, larger network capacity and very low latency. This service uses a blanket coverage approach, namely building a 5G network that is evenly distributed throughout the city, so that customers can enjoy a stable and continuous connection, both indoors and outdoors.
XLSMART Director & Chief Technology Officer, Shurish Subbramaniam explained that XLSMART’s 5G network was built using dedicated spectrum technology to maintain connection quality. “In the future, we will continue to expand coverage and improve the quality of the 5G network in line with the readiness of the device ecosystem, regulations and customer needs,” added Shurish.
Supporting the Needs of the Industrial and Enterprise Sectors
Apart from improving the experience of retail customers, including XL, AXIS and SMARTFREN customers, XLSMART’s 5G network is also designed to support the needs of the industrial and enterprise sectors. With the characteristics of lower latency and greater network capacity, 5G opens up opportunities for the development of various digital solutions such as smart cities, industrial automation, sensor-based services, as well as strengthening the tourism ecosystem and the creative economy.
The development of XL Ultra 5G+ is supported by global technology partners, Huawei and ZTE. This service can be enjoyed without the need to replace the SIM card on all devices that support 5G technology, including various popular smartphone brands.
XL Ultra 5G+ Service Package
Customers can still enjoy the 5G network without having to buy a special 5G package, but if customers want to experience 5G, XL Prepaid customers can simply buy the XL Ultra 5G+ package via the myXL application. Quota options start from 150 GB to 500 GB. All packages offer speeds of up to 500 Mbps, free roaming in 9 countries, as well as subscription access to Vidio Platinum and Disney+.
Especially for XL PRIORITAS customers, they can enjoy the Ultra 5G+ experience without quota limits (unlimited) for only IDR 200,000/month. This package is available from 17 December 2025 and will automatically connect to the 5G network when the customer is in a covered area.
5G Portal for Interactive Experiences
As part of the XL Ultra 5G+ launch series, XL is presenting a 5G portal that can be accessed by the public during the campaign period. This facility allows people to directly experience the advantages of the 5G network through interactive experiences, such as real-time cross-city connections, 5G-based games, entertainment content, and various low-latency digital activities.
This portal will be introduced in stages in main cities that are covered by the XL Ultra 5G+ network.
