5 Countries with the Most Google Users, Including Indonesia?
Google’s Role in the World’s Digital Life
Google has become one of the most influential technology companies in the world. Various services provided by this giant, such as search engines, cloud computing services, and applications supporting daily needs, have been adopted by many countries. Not only that, several countries even rely heavily on Google services to meet their needs in various aspects of life.
Based on data from Semrush, until July 2025, around 9.5 million searches were carried out on Google every minute globally. What’s interesting is that the majority of search activity still comes from Google’s home country, namely the United States. This fact shows that Uncle Sam’s country still dominates the use of digital technology, although it is now starting to be displaced by other large countries.
Countries with the Most Google Users
The following is a list of countries with the largest amount of Google traffic until 2024:
United States of America
During 2023 and 2024, the United States will occupy the first position as the country with the largest Google users. Data until 2023 shows that the amount of Google traffic in the US will reach 18.1 billion. This figure will increase significantly to 24.9 billion in April 2024. With the very large number of internet users, it is estimated that Google traffic from the US will exceed 30 billion searches in 2025.
India
India managed to maintain its position as the country with the second highest amount of Google traffic for two consecutive years. By 2023, India will record 11.7 billion monthly Google search traffic. Even though it has decreased to 10.6 billion in 2024, the use of Google services in India continues to show growth. As of February 2025, India has the second largest digital population in the world, with 806 million active internet users.
Japan
Japan is in third place with an increasing trend in the number of Google traffic. In 2023, this country recorded 5.51 billion monthly traffic, then increasing to 6.94 billion in 2024. However, the number of internet users in Japan is only around 109 million people, much less than Brazil which reaches 183 million users. The question is, is Google’s traffic in Japan continuing to increase or stagnant?
Brazil
Brazil has experienced a significant spike in Google traffic over the past two years. In 2023, Brazil recorded 3.29 billion searches, then increasing to 6.29 billion in 2024. This spike is in line with the rapid growth of internet users in the country. As of February 2025, 183 million Brazilians have accessed the internet, so it is very likely that the amount of Google traffic in Brazil will continue to increase.
English
In 2023, Indonesia will occupy fifth position on the list of countries with the most Google users, with traffic reaching 4.42 billion searches. However, this position will be taken by the UK in 2024, with traffic of 3.89 billion. The decline in Google traffic in Indonesia in 2024 will shift this country. However, the number of internet users in Indonesia will reach 212 million people in February 2025, a figure that still has the potential to enter the list of countries with the largest Google users.
