Internet data every minute: what happens in cyberspace?

Over the past few years, the virtual world has become the main stage for various activities that never stop. In the 11th edition of the infographic “Data Never Sleeps” issued by the analytics company Domo, we can clearly see how busy the internet is every minute. Since 2013, experts from Domo have carefully collected and combined internet data every minute and how this network operates.

see significant growth

Interestingly, according to Ben Schein, Senior Vice President of Products at Domo, the company evaluates what is popular and what is going on in culture every year, while maintaining calm and limiting itself on a pie chart.

Domo analysis identified some of the most striking annual statistical indicators of events that occur on the internet every minute:

Instagram dominance

Interestingly, the only company that has appeared in all Domo stats since 2013 is Instagram. This year, Instagram even got two “nominations” at once: the frequency of reel sending via private messages (694,000 times per minute) and the number of threads app downloads (3,720 times per minute) since its launch in July. Previously, Instagram had led in other fields, such as Instagram users in 2017 who uploaded 46,740 photos every minute.

Highlights on Generative Artificial Intelligence

One of the new and relevant information for this year’s collective internet obsession is the inclusion of generative artificial intelligence, in particular that chatGPT receives a total of 6,944 requests every minute. This shows the growing role of technology in our daily interactions in cyberspace.

Global Internet User Growth

However, what may be the most important information from Domo is the number of internet users worldwide, which reaches 5.2 billion people or 64.6% of the world’s population. This figure is more than double the 2.1 billion people who accessed the internet in 2013.

With such rapid growth, the internet is not only a place to communicate and entertain but also plays an important role in broadening our horizons about the world. With increasing user engagement and technological innovation, we can be sure that “Data Never Sleeps” will continue to be an irreplaceable source of information about what happens in cyberspace every minute.
