Is maintaining a hybrid car more difficult than a gasoline car?

Jakarta,
Hybrid car sales in Indonesia have shown positive growth in the last two years. Various automotive brands from Japan and China are now increasingly active in introducing hybrid variants. This provides an attractive alternative for the community in the face of the transition to full electric vehicles.
Hybrid cars are considered more efficient and environmentally friendly, while still practical for daily use. However, many people still have doubts about their treatment. How exactly do you care for a hybrid car?
Hybrid car maintenance: more complicated or not?
Many people think that hybrid car maintenance is more complicated than gasoline-fueled cars. However, Yusup, Product Planning Manager of Chery Sales Indonesia, explained that the maintenance of hybrid cars is actually not as complicated as the concern. What needs to be considered is the cooling system in a hybrid car.
Components such as fans and air ducts must be cleaned periodically so that the cooling system can work optimally. This is very important because the cooling system not only maintains the engine temperature, but also maintains the stability of the hybrid battery temperature which is very susceptible to overheating.
Hybrid Car Maintenance vs. gasoline car
In general, hybrid car maintenance is not much different from gasoline-fueled cars, as long as the owner uses spare parts and materials recommended by the manufacturer. Many official workshops are now equipped with certified technicians who are able to handle the hybrid electrical system. Thus, car owners do not have to worry about routine maintenance.
The service interval for hybrid cars is also similar to conventional cars, which is every 10,000 kilometers or every six months, depending on the intensity of use. In addition, components such as brake pads tend to be more durable in hybrid cars. This is due to the regenerative braking system that helps slow the vehicle while charging the battery at the same time.
Are hybrid cars difficult to maintain?
In other words, even though hybrid cars have more complex technology, that doesn’t mean maintenance is more difficult. As long as car owners are disciplined in performing periodic services and maintaining the cleanliness of the cooling system, hybrid cars can remain efficient and durable, just like gasoline-fueled cars.
The development of the hybrid car market in Indonesia continues to increase, and their potential in the future is very promising. With increasing awareness of the environment and the need for more energy-efficient transportation, hybrid cars are a solution worth considering.
