This rider was ticketed electronically three times without breaking the rules, it turned out to be because of this trivial thing!

An information circulated from a social media user who revealed that his number plate was caught by an electronic ticketing system (e-TLE), even though he claimed not to have committed any traffic violations.

Chronology of events

A viral post tells how the license plate of a person’s vehicle is recorded by the ETLE system, even though the driver feels it is not against the law. The image captured by the ETLE camera shows a Honda PCX 160 motorcycle rider who is traveling alone.

The photo went viral after being shared by the Instagram account @jakarta.keras. In his upload, the owner of the official license plate voiced his hope that the authorities would pay more attention to this case.

request for help from the owner of the number plate

The owner of the license plate involved in this incident then applied for help in the Facebook group PCX 160 Indonesia Community To find out who has used the license plate without permission. In the message, he mentioned that the vehicle that was using his number plate, B 5435 TiO, may be the result of theft or vehicles that use fake number plates.

In addition, he also revealed that the vehicle had violated the busway lane three times, which caused the STNK to be blocked. “His vehicle is quite cool, namely the Honda PCX with license plate number B 5435 TIO,” said the owner of the number plate in the message. He also claimed that this problem had disturbed him, because the number plate was used by a Yamaha motorcycle.

Explanation from police officers

When contacted, a police official explained that there were indications of fraud related to vehicle number plates that violated traffic regulations. He said that the owner of the legal number plate became a victim of losses due to misuse of vehicle numbers by irresponsible parties.

“The main problem is the allegations of fraud against the motor vehicle number (TNKB), which causes the legitimate party to become a victim,” the official explained on Monday, April 14, 2025. He added that there was no mistake in the ETLE system that recorded the violation.

According to the official, this error was caused by the manipulation of the license plate number, which caused the original owner of the license plate to receive a fine even though they did not commit a violation.

Conclusion

Even though the owner of the official license plate is innocent, they can still confirm the fine with the police in the event of a discrepancy. The ETLE system has been running in accordance with the established procedures, despite cases of misuse of plate numbers.
