Qualcomm Introduces Snapdragon 6S Gen 4 for Mid-Range Phones

Qualcomm, a renowned tech company, has launched their newest mid-range chipset called the Snapdragon 6S Gen 4 (SM6435-AA). This chipset is a significant improvement compared to its predecessor, namely the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. With an increase in CPU and GPU performance faster, as well as support for FHD+ screens up to 144Hz, this chipset offers a better user experience.

According to a report released by GSM Arena on October 24, this processor was produced with a 4 nanometer fabrication process from Samsung. Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 provides a 36 percent increase in CPU performance and 59 percent on the GPU. In addition, this chipset uses an eight-core KRYO CPU consisting of four core performance cores of up to 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores at a speed of 1.8 GHz.

In terms of graphics technology, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 supports HDR quality games and is compatible with OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 FP, and Vulkan 1.1. Qualcomm also includes Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, such as Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and Quick Touch games, for a more responsive gaming experience.

This latest chipset is aimed at upper middle class phones that balance between game performance, power efficiency, and premium features. Although it is not yet known which manufacturer will be the first to use the Snapdragon 6S Gen 4, predictions say that this chipset will be present in 2025.

In terms of capacity, the Snapdragon 6S Gen 4 is equipped with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM with a speed of 3,200 MHz and UFS 3.1 storage. To support the camera, this chipset is equipped with Qualcomm Spectra ISP which is capable of handling sensors up to 200 megapixels and recording 2K videos at 30 frames per second.

In addition, this semiconductor is also equipped with Snapdragon Sound features and Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology. These features make the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 one of the best chipsets in the middle class today.
