The book Owner of Electronic Motor Vehicles (e-BPKB) now comes with the latest security features that utilize the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) CIP technology. Although still physical, this e-BPKB has a more compact size and is equipped with the latest technology that allows the vehicle ownership verification process to be carried out more quickly and accurately.
Director of Registration and Identification (Diregident) of the National Police Korlantas, Brigadier General Pol Wibowo explained that the RFID chip installed on the e-BPKB serves to make it easier for the community and officers to ensure the authenticity of vehicle documents. He said that in the past, people often had difficulty verifying whether the BPKB was legal or not. This causes a lot of embezzlement and fraud.

With the presence of the RFID CIP, vehicle owners now only need to use the e-BPKB mobile application which can be downloaded on the App Store or Play Store. Through this application, users can scan the CIP installed on the back of the e-BPKB book to ensure the authenticity and validity of the document.

After the scan is carried out, the application will automatically display the motor vehicle data if the document is valid and registered. This is a significant step in the effort to create a more transparent system and reduce the risk of counterfeiting.
Connecting the national system
In addition, the RFID CIP on the e-BPKB is also directly connected to the Electronic Registration and Identification (ERI) system belonging to the National Police Korlantas which functions as a national vehicle registration data center. Thus, all recorded vehicle data will be more easily accessible and verified.
However, if the scan does not display vehicle data, the public is advised to immediately go to the police station to carry out manual checks. This RFID technology is expected to reduce the potential for document falsification and improve vehicle ownership data security.
