Aerox Without Gasoline, Yamaha Announces EV Version Soon Released

Yamaha finally presented an electric variant of the Aerox which was named the Yamaha Aerox E. This motorbike has been officially introduced in India by maintaining a sharp design and muscular body that has been the hallmark of the Aerox 155 series.

Unfortunately, the design used by the Yamaha Aerox E actually takes the basis of the previous generation, not the latest Aerox Alpha form. Despite having a nostalgic impression, the electric power matter of this motorbike cannot be underestimated.
The Yamaha Aerox E is equipped with a driving motor capable of producing peak power of 9.4 kW or the equivalent of 12.6 hp. When compared to the Aerox Alpha gasoline which has a power of 15.15 hp, this electrical variant is slightly lagging behind. However, in terms of torque, Aerox E shows a significant advantage. With a torque of 48 Nm, this bike even exceeds the torque of the Yamaha R25 which is only 22.5 Nm. Even compared to conventional Aerox which only has a torque of 14.2 nm, the Aerox E is far superior in terms of acceleration.
In addition, cruising power is also a major concern in the development of the Yamaha Aerox E. This motorbike is equipped with two batteries with a total capacity of 6 kWh. Removable battery system makes it easy for owners when they want to charge at home or office. With a full battery, Yamaha claims that the Aerox E is capable of covering a distance of up to 106 km.
Riders are also given flexibility through three driving modes, namely Eco for power saving, standard for daily use, and power to get maximum performance. Modern features such as a 5-inch TFT instrument screen, Y-Connect connectivity, and the Smart Key system are still present in this motorbike.
Safety matters also did not go unnoticed by Yamaha. This motor is equipped with ABS brakes and Traction Control System (TCS) which helps keep the tires from slipping when receiving large torque.
Although it has been exhibited, Yamaha India has not officially sold the Yamaha Aerox E. However, reportedly this motorbike will be launched in the first quarter of this year. If you later enter Indonesia, are you interested in switching to an electric motorcycle or still choosing Aerox Gasoline?
