Volvo ES90: Premium Electric Sedan that Delivers a Combination of Performance and Advanced Technology
Volvo Car Indonesia officially launched its newest electric sedan, the Volvo ES90, in the Indonesian market. This model is Volvo’s flagship electrification in Indonesia as well as expanding the Swedish brand’s electric vehicle portfolio in the premium segment. With its distinctive Scandinavian design and the latest electrification technology, the ES90 offers a combination of performance, comfort and advanced digital technology designed to deliver an electric driving experience in the luxury class.
800V Architecture with Range Up to 661 km
As Volvo’s latest generation electric sedan, the ES90 uses an 800V electric architecture combined with a 92 kWh capacity battery. This combination enables better energy efficiency while supporting ultra-fast charging. In WLTP testing, this car was able to cover a distance of up to 661 km on a single battery charge. Charging from 10 to 80 percent on a 350 kW DC fast charging station can be done in around 22 minutes.
For the Indonesian market, the ES90 produces 245 kW of power or the equivalent of 333 hp with a maximum torque of 480 Nm. This electric sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 180 km/h. Its aerodynamic design and efficient drive system make the ES90 an ideal choice for electric car fans who want high performance without sacrificing efficiency.
Scandinavian Cabin with Premium Technology

Entering the interior, the ES90 has a minimalist but elegant Scandinavian cabin design. The cabin space is designed to be spacious with the use of premium materials to increase passenger comfort. On the dashboard there is a 14.5 inch central screen which is the infotainment control center, combined with a 9 inch digital instrument screen.
Volvo also provides an optional 13.2-inch head-up display that displays real-time driving information in the driver’s field of view. The cabin is also equipped with a multi-zone climate control system, air purification technology that can filter up to 95 percent of pollution particles, and an electrochromic panoramic roof that provides natural lighting.
Apart from that, there is a cabin pre-conditioning feature which allows setting the cabin temperature via the Volvo Cars application before the journey begins. This feature provides extra comfort for the driver and passengers, especially during hot or cold seasons.
Volvo’s Signature Advanced Digital and Safety Systems

The ES90 is equipped with a built-in Google system that includes Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play to support digital experiences in the vehicle. The Volvo Superset computing system also allows for over-the-air software updates without the need to come to a repair shop. Apart from that, there is a digital key feature to open and lock the car via smartphone, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay integration.
This feature allows iPhone users to access navigation, entertainment and applications more practically. In terms of safety, the ES90 is built with a 360-degree protective body structure equipped with cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors. The driver understanding system is also present to monitor the driver’s condition to anticipate potential risks while driving.
“The presence of the ES90 is a symbol of our commitment to presenting premium mobility solutions that are not only sophisticated, but also sustainable and relevant to current consumer needs,” said Chief Executive Officer of Volvo Car Indonesia, Koji Horii, Friday (6/3/2026).
The Volvo ES90 is marketed in Indonesia with an on-road price in Jakarta of IDR 2.1 billion and complements the previously available Volvo model line, such as the XC90 MHEV and XC60 MHEV. With attractive offers and innovative technology, the ES90 is expected to become one of the main choices for consumers looking for a luxury electric car with optimal performance.
