The CEO of GWEC, Ben Backwell, stressed the importance of decisions from world leaders to increase the capacity of renewable energy by three times by 2030, in accordance with agreed global goals. According to Ben, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to improve policies and infrastructure that support the development of renewable energy.

Ben Backwell also warned that uncertainty in energy policies in various markets could be detrimental to investment in the renewable energy sector. He stated, “We note that there is an increasingly uncertain policy environment in various global areas, including attacks on wind energy and renewable resources, which led to the cancellation of a large number of construction projects.” This can significantly damage the investment climate.
In addition, tariff competition between the US and China has also worsened the ambiguity in the field of global investment, which could threaten the smooth international supply which is important for the wind power sector.
