• Old SIM C that is still active (not yet passed)
• Original ID card and copy
• Proof of Active BPJS Health Participation
• Health test results
• Psychological test results

If the validity period of the SIM has expired, then the applicant cannot renew and must make a new SIM from the beginning.

SIM A Extension Rates

The extension of the Driving License (SIM) A is an obligation for car drivers to remain legal when driving on the highway. In addition to avoiding a ticket, a valid driver’s license is also proof that the driver is worthy of operating the vehicle according to the rules.

For people who want to extend SIM A in May 2026, it is important to know the applicable official tariffs so as not to be deceived by illegal levies. The official tariff for making SIM A and SIM A is new, which is Rp. 120,000, while the extension of SIM A and SIM A is Rp. 80,000. There has been no increase so far.

This rate does not include other additional costs such as:

• Health test: around IDR 25,000 – IDR 50,000
• Psychological test: around IDR 50,000 – IDR 100,000
• Insurance: around IDR 30,000

Thus, the total cost that needs to be prepared generally ranges from Rp. 155,000 to Rp. 260,000, depending on the location and additional services used.

To extend SIM A, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

• Old SIM A that is still valid (maximum H-1 before the expiry)
• Original ID card and photocopy
• Passed the health test
• Passed the psychological test
• Attach BPJS Health membership

It should be noted, if the validity period of the SIM has expired, the applicant must make a new SIM from the beginning, including taking the theory and practical exams.
